While its true you may have friends and family who genuinely want to see you succeed, unfortunately, not everyone has your best interest at heart. "Crabs in a Barrel" is a metaphor that describes how people within a specific culture or community, secretly harbor resentment for familiar individuals attempting to enrich their lives by pursuing avenues of opportunity and successful ventures.

Even it it means they may miss out on reaping benefits once you've 'made it', individuals who know you may feel you are not supposed to surpass them--even if they're doing nothing to advance themselves. By withholding or withdrawing support from your new endeavors, they mistakenly believe this will thwart your chances for advancement. It doesn't. In this episode, I show you how to recognize 'frenemies' (enemies disguised as friends) and how to deal with them accordingly.
